What attracted you to this profession?
Architecture allows me to exercise both sides of my brain, analyzing and solving issues while still having creative freedom.

What’s a typical week in your job like?
It varies, sometimes I am working on specifics like details on a project or exploring a larger schematic ideas through 3d modeling and rendering.
What do you like most about your job?
As a new-ish professional, I like the variety of work and what I learn from it. An added bonus is how supportive the office environment is in my professional development.
What’s the most challenging part of your job?
There so many ways to go about solving a problem as a designer, with all the information available, learning to distill it down to what is important, Is something I am trying to teach myself.
What’s the coolest thing you’re working on right now?
This project was finished in November, but I had the opportunity to participate and build a pop-up park for the Park Place Community in Norfolk. I was one of the production mangers, building the components for the park.
What’s your favorite thing to do outside of work?
I am a maker, anything that gets my hands moving whether it’s woodworking, pottery, screen printing, etc. I love exploring new food places and trying teas!
What music are you listening to right now?
Right now, the music I’m listening to is a mishmash of different genres, from Pop, K-Pop to Bollywood.
What’s your favorite film?
That’s hard! I do appreciate films by Hayo Miyazaki, Lakita Studios and Wes Anderson.
What’s the best gift you’ve ever received?
Written letters from my loved one’s are the best. My little sister wrote me the sweetest letter for my birthday and anytime I feel down I read that. Letters cheer me up and make me feel supported.

We work on today to make our tomorrow better than yesterday.
