Guilford County Detention Center

Moseley designed an expansion of the Guilford County Detention Center, adding 1,000 beds to the existing downtown facility. The high-rise addition increased the center's total capacity to 1,600 beds while improving security and operations throughout the complex.

The expanded wing includes administration offices, intake processing zones, kitchen facilities, and laundry operations. Security improvements feature a bus-compatible vehicle entry port, booking sections with holding cells, magistrate offices, and a dedicated courtroom. The facility updates include officers' monitoring stations and new dress/shower areas.

The administrative section was designed for efficient workflow, incorporating records management, pre-trial services, and staff facilities including locker rooms and training spaces. A public lobby equipped with video visitation stations provides convenient access for inmates' families and legal representatives.
