Designed in accordance with the VIMS comprehensive master plan and the Chesapeake Bay Act, the new Consolidated Science Research Facility is located on the York River shoreline. It is home the College of William and Mary’s School of Marine Science (SMS) graduate program.

The facility consolidates programs previously dispersed in separate, antiquated facilities throughout the campus, and provides improved research and collaboration spaces for Marine Advisory Services, the Center for Coastal Resource Management, the Virginia Sea Grant, and the Campus Communications/Data Center. The new design features bio-science laboratories and technology-rich public outreach spaces.
