In response to growing capacity needs, Moseley assessed the existing educational program at Providence Middle School. We evaluated spaces to determine if they were underutilized or overutilized, learned about specific requirements for the school, and discussed program adjacencies. This assessment guided the design team to reprogram the entire school to gain additional space for classroom seats while keeping additional new construction to only what was necessary.

The gymnasium, locker rooms, auditorium, and cafeteria received full renovations. The boys and girls locker rooms were relocated to the opposite side of the gymnasium. The original girls locker room was converted into classrooms and resource rooms. Collaborative and flexible spaces with large sliding glass doors for visibility were incorporated into the media center. The second floor features breakout spaces with a café style counter and bench seating where small groups of students can congregate and collaborate.
