Bill Laughlin

From an early age, the built environment and its inner workings have fascinated Bill. This lifelong curiosity drives his efforts as a principal in Moseley’s K-12 sector, where he strives to design innovative, impactful academic environments that strengthen communities and satisfy client needs. With over three decades of experience, Bill thrives on meeting challenges with creative and effective solutions.
Both creativity and data-driven strategies drive Bill’s work. Drawing inspiration from the rich history of architectural giants who have gone before, he is especially passionate about the K-12 sector because its projects offer a bit of everything—from educational spaces and athletic facilities to food service needs and complex site logistics. This array of projects presents opportunities for innovative thinking in close collaboration with other team members and our clients. His overarching goal is to work through any obstacles in pursuit of an amplified learning environment that adds value to the surrounding community.
Bill believes that a collaborative environment in which people freely share and thoughtfully implement different ideas produces the best design solutions. He understands the worth of diverse perspectives and enjoys organizing teams around complex projects. In doing so, he strategically matches skills with challenges that will enhance and expand individual abilities. Curating and mentoring a talented team that listens well to clients and brings their visions to life is among Bill’s greatest joys as a leader. Alongside his role as principal, Bill serves on Moseley’s Board of Directors and carries designations in Crime Prevention through Environmental Design (CPD) and as a Recognized Educational Facility Planner (REFP).
